San Francisco Bay Area Workshop — 17 march 2019
In this workshop we’ll spend the day together sketching and painting. I will lead you through my process of telling a compelling story with a painting.
We will begin the day at 10am for coffee and introductions. I’ll share my personal theory on color, light, perspective, composition, and how to convey a mood with a painting. We will do some simple warm-up exercises, before heading outside to sketch. We will work in watercolor sketchbooks or loose sheets, and the media will be pen and ink and watercolor. Lunch will be in a nearby café, after which we will move nearby to a second location. We’ll spend the afternoon applying what we’ve learned to create a piece to be proud of. Group size is limited, so there will be plenty of time for one-on-one instruction. After sharing our work and final words, our day will end at 5pm.
I hope you will join me for this day of shared creativity.
